PRESS RELEASE

MENIFEE, CA – Two weeks ago The Fabtech Obsession left for Tucson, AZ for the Monster Jam event. Rick was pleased with his new power glide transmission on Friday night bringing him to the semi finals. Old habits die hard. The new transmission is a forward pattern shifter. It took some getting use to shifting this way. Friday night proved to be Ricks best night in Tucson. Rick learned neutral is naughty! Going over this with the Patriot Racing Team Rick found out that they had the same shifters. They showed Rick what they did to their shifter to prevent hitting neutral. They welded a tap on the reverse lock out. This prevented the transmission from going into neutral. Unfortunately it took a little schooling in order to make it on top.

From Tucson, AZ we traveled onto Roswell, NM for rounds one and two for the Monsters of Destruction series. Friday night Rick Swanson set second fastest qualifying time. He was on fire for Friday nights racing. Rick made it to the semi finals in the straight line drag racing. He was unable to come back because he blew the left rear tire in the previous round and almost rolled the truck! In order to make it to the obstacle racing Spider Man (Paul Jensen) graciously lent Rick his tire for the rest of the night. He was out due to mechanical problems. Rick went on the take the #95 Fabtech Obsession to first place! Saturday night (round two) Rick went to the semi finals in straight line racing. In the J hook racing Rick unfortunately took the corner to hard and ran into the freestyle landing ramp which took him off course. Rick was able to perform freestyle in both rounds bringing the crowd to their feet.

The MOD series is more focused on racing. With this series we are getting paid by the round. Not a show up fee. Due to this we have to run numbers on our truck. Rick and Jill picked the number 95 because their son Eric was born in that year and that gave us a number to be proud of.
